AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Video link(s) of 15 to 30 minutes duration
  • Two contrasting works of your choice (two different composers and styles)
  • Individual movements or entire multi-movement works are acceptable
  • Instead of teacher recommendation letters, please provide names and e-mails of two references (current instrumental teacher, chamber music coach, orchestra director etc.).

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

DUE TO THE FAST EVOLVING SITUATION OF THE CURRENT CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC, WE ARE KEEPING OUR APPLICATION OPEN UNTIL ALL SPOTS ARE FILLED. WE STILL ENCOURANGE STUDENTS TO APPLY IN A TIMELY MANNER, AS WE ACCEPT ONLY FIFTY TALENTED INSTRUMENTALISTS. ADDITIONALLY, SHOULD THE FESTIVAL NEED TO BE ON HIATUS THIS YEAR DUE TO THE DEVELOPENT OR IMPACT OF THE CURRENT GLOBAL SITUATION, INCLUDING TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS, ALL TUITION DEPOSITS AS WELL AS ANY PAID REMAINING FESTIVAL FEES WILL BE REFUNDED IN FULL. WE WANT THIS INFORMATION TO HELP OUR APPLICANTS MOVE FORWARD WITH THEIR PLANS FOR ATTENDING BORROMEO WITH EXTRA ASSURANCE.

  • Submit an online application with the application fee (non-refundable). We will review applications until all spots are filled.

$90 USD

PAYMENT AND REFUND POLICY

  • Students need to make a deposit of $1,000 USD upon their acceptance ($500 for tuition and $500 for room & board) in order to confirm their participation and secure their spot in the festival.
  • A space at the festival is not secured until we receive your deposit.
  • The deposit will be applied towards the total cost of attendance.
  • Payment of the remaining balance is due in full by May 1, 2020.
  • Festival fees are non-refundable except in the case that the festival needs to be cancelled due to the development of the current situation with the Coronavirus. In the event of a student’s withdrawal, refunds are only made in the case of a medical emergency with supporting documentation from a hospital and/or doctor. In the event of festival cancellation due to the development or impact of the current global health situation, all participants will be refunded their deposit and any paid remaining festival fees.
  • In cases where students or parents need to arrange for a payment plan, please contact the festival.

GUESTS & AUDITORS

  • Submit an online registration form by May 1, 2020.

  • A deposit of $500 USD must be made at the time of registration. The deposit is non-refundable except in the case that the festival needs to be cancelled due to the development of this year’s situation with the Coronavirus. In the event of a guest’s withdrawal, refunds are only made in the case of a medical emergency with supporting documentation from a hospital and/or doctor. In the event of festival cancellation due to the development or impact of the current global health situation, all participants will be refunded their deposit and any paid remaining festival fees.
  • Payment of the remaining fees is due in full by May 15, 2020.
  • If registering after May 1, 2020, please contact the festival first to check availability.
